TechPoint: The Pitch:
Electric Vehicle Battery Recycling
OVERVIEW
The Pitch is an entrepreneurial exploration of technology and design in a 6-week intensive program. Our group consisted of 8 total team members split into two teams, the GoSquad and the ProSquad. The GoSquad consisted of business and marketing minded individuals who conducted the market and product research. The ProSquad worked intensively with GoSquad to bring the project vision to life.

PROBLEM EXPLORATION
The Future is Electric!
...But what do we do with all the batteries?
As our climate changes, the need for electric vehicles intensifies.
More consumers are buying hybrid and fully electrical vehicles.
While electric vehicle batteries may not be able to power a car, they often have at least 70% capacity left, which can be utilized for other charging purposes.
Mining for electric vehicle battery materials is destructive to the environments where the materials are mined. Finding ways to recycle these materials can reduce the carbon footprint of electric vehicle production.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
BUY AND SELL BATTERIES
Our main focus was to create a platform to promote the SecondLife potential of electric vehicle batteries and create a resource for auto dealerships and government agencies to purchase and sell these commodities.
Our team envisioned a website that could provide resources for electric vehicle recycling professionals
Since this is a new but rapidly evolving industry, we wanted to create a virtual space where professionals could connect.
