Transer You: Transfer Admissions Mobile App.
PROBLEM SPACE
Roughly two million college students transfer universities every year. The transfer population has a unique set of challenges. Every univeristy is different, with different processes, deadlines, and language surrounding their unique culture. All of these factors make transferring universities a difficult process.
As a higher education professional, I helped students navigate through these issues. I am in the process of developing an application based on a specific university. This app works as a checklist of items that the student needs to complete, before the application would be reviewed by admissions professionals. It provides a step by step process for the student and explains how to complete certain steps. It would also automatically notify students of any issues with submitted documents. The eventual goal of the application would be to incorporate all universities within the U.S.
INITIAL STEPS
My entire career in higher education has been one giant qualitative research project. Much of this information remained in my head and so, the steps are a little out of order for this project. I gathered my thoughts and developed an initial rough prototype. The prototype needs extensive testing and continued iterations.
NEXT ITERATION BEFORE TESTING
The second screen lists out all steps, however, the icons and information is too large and the user would have to scroll. I would condense this information to fit on one screen so that all steps are visible. In its current form, the information is displayed haphazardly, it needs to be concise and precise.
